Welcome to Garrett Farms!
Rooted in History. Cultivating the Future.
In 1945, the story of Garrett Farms began with a single act of resilience. My great-grandfather purchased 24 acres in Salem, Virginia, to plant a Victory Garden—a way to provide during the closing days of World War II. He was a man of the earth, dedicated to the discipline of agriculture and the preservation of the land.
Eighty years later, the dirt under our fingernails is the same, but the harvest has evolved.
More Than Just a Farm
Today, Garrett Farms is a 24-acre intersection of heritage and high-tech. While we still pride ourselves on our sweet corn, pumpkins, and cantaloupes, we’ve expanded our rows to include the future of medicinal agriculture. Through our cannabis genetic climate research and garden consulting services, we aren’t just growing plants; we’re studying how to help them thrive in an ever-changing world.
A Stage for the Community
We believe a farm should be the heartbeat of its community. That’s why we’ve opened our gates to more than just the harvest. Whether it’s the raw energy of a metal show, the storytelling of a folk set, or the local talent at our craft and vendor markets, Garrett Farms is a place where every subculture feels at home.
We are strictly family-friendly and community-focused. We’ve traded the quiet rows of 1945 for a vibrant, loud, and living landscape that welcomes everyone.
The Legacy
My great-grandfather might have raised an eyebrow at the cannabis or the punk rock, but we know he’d recognize the spirit behind it. He believed in the power of the land to sustain a family. We’ve simply expanded that vision to sustain a community.
Welcome to Garrett Farms. We’re glad you’re part of our history.
